Daniel Sandler Luxury Lipstick in Goddess Review

Hey Beauties!
I got this Daniel Sandler lipstick while i was in London and only just came across it in my "stash" when i was packing for a makeup job. Its a gorgeous colour so i thought i would show you all what its like

Colour and Pigmentation

The lipstick i have is called Goddess which is a pink nude tone which i find looks really great on a number of skin tones from Light to Medium it might be a bit too light for deeper skin tones. Goddess really packs a punch in terms of pigmentation as its not totally opaque but its that "you lips but better" shade which i really like, it also has a really nice texture i find a lot of pigmented lipsticks sometimes tend to be drying but this is really soft and comfortable to wear i find it does make the lips look plump that will because it contains treatment spheres filled with lip-plumping folic and ultra moisturising hyaluronic acid to stop the horrible dry lips look.

Wear Time

I find with a lot of Daniel Sandler makeup items they last a long time and the Luxury Lipsticks are no different you can easily get 6+ hours of wear out of this lipstick i used it on a makeup job a while ago and it lasted the whole time i only needed to touch it up slightly after about 4 hours but for a lipstick that's pretty good

Packaging

The packaging is really sleek but its just your average lipstick bullet but this one is metal so it feels sturdy and feels like a lot of thought went into the packaging to make it.

Edit- Daniel Sandler told me that something which i never even noticed but im glad he pointed it out "The tip is contoured to help with even application. No other Lipstick is shaped that way"

Price and Where to Buy

You can purchase the Luxury Lipsticks from www.danielsandler.com or from Love Makeup, Look Fantastic, Feel Unique and Esscentual etc. The lipstick is £13.25 which is pretty good considering a MAC lipstick £15

The Good and The Bad

The Good?- I love the Texture and the colour of Goddess
The Bad?- I would have liked to see a larger range in colours

What are your favourite lipsticks?
Have you tried Daniel Sandler Cosmetics?

Products for Curling Hair under £10

Hey Beauties!

I thought i would do another one of these posts as my "Top 10 Makeup Products under £10" was really popular so i thought i would do a post on Curling products for hair as ive seen a lot that my readers have problems holding curls in their hair.

I have put together 3 products in which i think are best for this type of style be it a dry set or wet set. When curling your hair a wet set will always last longer than using just heat i won't go into the Chemistry and Science but the bonds of your hair form better with water than they do with heat.

Trevor Sorbie Styling Curl Creator (£5.59)

The Trevor Sorbie Curl Creator is a great spray for creating curls on dry hair, you can use this but spraying on the sections of your hair waiting for it to try then using a curling wand, tongs or even straighteners to Curl.
It smells amazing and its sticky at all. I think this one has to be my favourite because i find it keeps and holds the curl the best and not to mention the fact it has a heat protectant in it so you don't have to use lots of product

L'oreal Elnett Satin Heat and Styling Spray- Volume (£5.99)

This spray has the same idea as the Trevor Sorbie Curl Creator but this creates volume in the hair as well as holds the curl perfectly, you can use this on wet hair or dry hair by spraying it all over or on the sections you want to curl and curling with your appliance. You have to be careful how much of this you use because if you use too much it does tend to go a bit sticky which is never good

Wella Professionals Wet Perfect Setting (£6.99)

This spray is perfect for when you want to do a wet set, apply it to damp hair and apply all over instead of to different sections if you find the hair as dried try wetting the hair and reapplying you need the hair to be wet.
It doesn't make the hair crispy and it doesn't  feel sticky and the smell is really nice and isn't overpowering

I created these styles below using the different products above i used the Curl Creator on the half up and down with large velcro rollers for volume and texture and on the second i used the same spray and on the 3 image i used the L'oreal styling spray

What do you use to curl your hair?
Do you use any of these?

MUA Cosmetics Little Things Collection for One Direction

Everyone knows about my little thing for One Direction ((See what i did there haha)) i saw this collection and it wasn't a moment of OMG but a moment of seriously....really? -sigh- anyway.
MUA Cosmetics will be bringing out a collection soon called "Little Things" its a collaboration between MUA and One Direction although i dont actually think they would have had much involvement in creating the collection as they are busy in the US.

The Little Things Collection contains 5 Lipsticks with each of the boys signatures on them, 5 Lip Polishes, 3 Cheek Tints and 5 shades of Nail Polish! ((Which London Beauty Queen pointed out quite rightly that they look a lot like the Love Hearts collection colours))

The "Kiss You" Lipsticks come in a variety of shades which actually look pretty good just basing them on the colour. The colours are a Be Mine, Moments, I Wish, Rock Me , I Want (£3)

Lip Polish - £2.50

Then in the collection they have 3 cheek tints Coral Cutie, Pink Explosion and Rose Riot. (£3)

The collection is avaliable from muastore.co.uk or from Superdrug stores on the 31st of July

What do you think of the Little Things Collection?

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Review

Hey Beauties!

I was sent a few products from CocktailCosmetics.co.uk i got a few OCC Products, Lime Crime and a brand i had never heard of before called "Neve Cosmetics" i will have reviews up for those products soon.
What i wanted to talk about was the product from OCC because its mostly a brand i haven't tried before i received the new OCC Lip Tar stained glosses and a few products for the eyes

The new Lip Tars are pretty amazingly they are the Stained version which are new, they are still as pigmented as the original version. I love the packaging for these as its in a perfect little container but i have heard that they tend to leak. They come with a little brush which is always useful to have when out and about because you can't apply these directly to the lips you need a brush.

As they are a stain they will last for ages i find that you get at least 8/9 hours from it but i find the "Gloss" of the stain will last for about 6 hours

I got the colours Voyeur which is your basic primary yellow, Jealous a pillar box red and Androgyne which is a bright orange

I also got these awesome little pigments and creams which are quite like something ive tried before but then again nothing is new these days.
The Loose Colour is pretty awesome because they come in a variety of shades i got Ginger which is pretty obvious by its name is a Ginger Shimmer, Flicker is a beige shimmer and Foxfire is a silvery lime shimmer.
These are loose shimmer powders could be used as bases or something to put on top of a shadow as they are quite sheer, usually i would apply these on top of a cream base and blend them in

I also got the Creme Colour Concentrate which are cream eyeshadows that can be applied anywhere to the lips, cheeks, eyes  but i used the 2 i got as a base colour for eyeshadow the colours i got were Mercury a true silver and Dark Matter a Dark Green Grey. These have a great creamy texture and last for quite a while i feel they do set after a while but after that its about 6+ hours wear which is usually a day
These colours are really pigmented the colours remind me of the Illamasqua Cream Pigments and the Chanel Illusion D'Ombre

Dark Matter looks amazing when you apply Foxfire on top of it but i applied Illamasqua Victim eyeshadow which is a bright blue, i always apply deep colours then lighter colours on top it helps them to pop a little

I havent really tried OCC before i got these products and i actually love them i really want to get more.
You can get OCC from Cocktailcosmetics.co.uk  and if you use the Discount code given to me for my readers "A.James10" you can get 10% off your order and spend over £50 to get free delivery the code will expire on the 26th July

What do you think of OCC?
Have you tried the lip tars?

MAC Adored Mineralize Skinfinish Review

Hey Beauties!
I can't believe the sun has lasted this look we can finally say in Scotland we actually got a Summer haha!

I picked up this gorgeous Mineralize Skinfinish from MAC when the Tropical Taboo Collection came out and i forgot about it until a few days ago. I don't even know why i forgot about it because its such a gorgeous colour.

Colour and Pigmentation

Adored Mineralize Skinfinish is described as a "coral with light beige pearl" I really like Adored because it is quite versatile, it can be used as a light coral blush on people who have really light skin or used as a sheer highlighter for those with Medium to Deep skin. The colour does tend to sheer out as you apply it but i find you can build the colour to get some sort of solid colour out of it.

Wear Time

This Mineralize Skinfinish will last around the 5/6 hour mark i used it on a photoshoot under hot studio lights so i think thats a pretty good test of how long it will last and i would say 5 hours for a cheek product is a pretty great lasting time.

Packaging

Adored Mineralize Skinfinish comes in the usual circular compact with the pack logo and the domed shape for the Mineralize Skinfinish i really like this packaging because the way the product is made it makes it really hard to break or smash which to me is an amazing plus.

Price and Where to Buy

You can purchase the Adored Mineralize Skinfinish from any MAC store as a part of the Tropical Taboo Collection but it is limited edition so you will have to get it will the collection is out. It retails for £22 for 10g of product

The Good and The Bad

The Good?- Its a really versatile as a product
The Bad?- I wish it was a little more pigmented

Have you tried anything from this collection

Hey Beauties!

Benefit will be launching a brand new blush soon called "Rockateur" which sounds pretty awesome. Im loving the packaging its the same as the normal boxed powders but its got a pretty cool design on it, it even has "Rock" stamped into the powder which a nice feature
Rockateur is going to be a rose gold blush with a soft sheen which flatters all skin tones.

Rockateur will be available from Benefit in September and will cost £23.50

Thanks to @BeckyMort on twitter who told me of the 1 day flash sale

Deborah Milano Lip Pencils

Hey Beauties!
How amazing is all this sun! its been seriously so hot haha.
I was contacted a while ago by the people at Deborah Milano a new brand coming to the UK which is quite big in Italy, They sent me a few of their lip liners to try out and i thought i'd tell you how i got on with them.

Colour and Pigmentation

The Deborah Milano Lip Pencils are quite pigmented some of them might take a few times to get some colour but i think its because the "LipLiner" range is such a hard matte formula, The "24ORE" formula is really soft and blendable they are of a more satin shine finish these have more pigment than the Matte version, then we have the "Extra Lip Pencil" formula this is a long lasting formula as you can tell from the name the colour is supposed to be waterproof but i did find they came off a little when eating and drinking but did last quite long when you didn't eat or drink, one thing that did get me was these are plastic based so you need a good sharpener to sharpen them

Wear Time

The wear time of each of the different formulas differ i think the "Extra Lip Pencils" last the longest as they have the long lasting formula then we have the "24ORE" pencils which pack a lot of colour and last quite long as well i got about 4+ hours wear from it and for a lip product i think thats pretty good then lastly we have the "LipLiner" formula which for me feels and looks a big drying when applied and tend to wear off after a while leaving a ring of colour

Packaging

The packaging is basically the same as every other lip liner just an average pencil that needs sharpening but the plastic pencils are a bit weird to me as ive never used that type of pencil you can sharpen before

Price and Where to Buy

You can buy the Deborah Milano Lip Pencils from www.deborahmilano.co.uk/ "LipLiner" is £4.90, the "24ORE" is £5.50 and the "Extra Lip Pencil" is £6.50

The Good and The Bad

The Good?- The "24ORE" apply really well and have great pigment
The Bad?- I wish some of them were a bit softer and applied easier

Have you tried anything from Deborah Milano?
What do you think Lip Liners should be like?

Top 10 Products under £10

Hey Beauties!

I thought i would do some a little different today. I thought this would be a good idea to show you my favourite products under or just a little over £10 ((one product has gone up by £2 but it was £10 when i bought it))
I always think that just because something is expensive it doesn't make it good ive used a lot of more affordable makeup and its just as good if not better sometimes:

Good Things Miracle Mattifying Moisturiser (£7.99)- This moisturiser is perfect for anyone who wants to be mattified or anyone with Oily skin, it works to hydrate the skin but to also control shine and oil. Holly Arabella actually introduced me to this range and i absolutely love it

Body Shop Matte it Primer (£12)- This product is a less expensive version of the MAC Matte Primer it basically does what it says in the same it prepare the surface of the skin for foundation by creating a smooth canvas and controlling oil by mattifying the skin. I find it doesn't absorb as fast at MAC Matte but it does the same job.

Maybelline "Fit Me" Foundation (£7.99)- This foundation is great for anyone with drier skin i haven't really used it on people with oily skin so i can't say anything but if anyone has used it with oily skin leave a comment. I find its great for dry skin because it doesn't emphasise dry spots and it just applies really well without transferring which to me is quite a good thing for a drugstore foundation .

Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Concealer (£4.19)- To anyone who blogs and a lot of people out there as well this concealer is the holy grail as its just a perfect concealer a company that offers products at such a low price you would never think it would have made such a perfect product. The texture is soft and creamy it doesn't settle into fine lines it doesn't crease and its great for all skin tones and types

Sleek MakeUP Pout Paint (£4.99)- This are a great dupe for the OCC Liptars as i feel like are quite the same texture and pigment. These last a really long time they stain the lips and you dont need a lot of product at all i would say smaller than a pea sized and they will last you forever! They come in a variety of shades such as pinks, purples, reds even blue and white!

No7 Sheer Temptation Lipstick (£9.50)- I really loved the colour "Showy" because it was a super bright neon pink but when applied it just a wash of colour that looks like a sheer pink so its not as scary as it looks in the tube, as a sheer lipstick it wont last for ages but it does last a while before you have to reapply

Topshop Cream Blush (£6)- These cream blushes come in a variety of different pigmented colours which last for ages! i think thats why they are such a hit with everyone because they last and they are easy to apply i love Flush because its such a bright colour but it can be used as a really natural colour or super bright. Pictured is Butterscotch a bronzy neutral tone which has a bit of sheen so its perfect if you just want a bit of colour

L'oreal Gel Intenza (£8.50)- This liner is quite like the YSL gel liners in the fact they have both got particles of shimmer contained in the liner, it applies in a solid black line with golden shimmer through it as its pigmented you only need to do the line once. This liner lasts all day on most of the clients i work with with the exception of those with really oily lids

Barry M Dazzle Dust (£4.59)- I absolutely love these little pots of magic! I dont really use the solid colours because im not a big pigment user but for the glitters they are perfect they are fine enough to use everyday because they just add shimmer instead of chunky glitter, they look amazing in the inner corner or on the lid for a bit of sparkle and for such a low price its a steal!

No7 Lip Pencil (£6.75)- These are quite great products because they are retractable liners for lips so that means no sharpening with is such a time saver! i particularly love the Nude shade as it just makes the best nude lip for that "you lip but better" look. For the clients ive used it on it has lasted through the shoot or event so we know it lasts for a long time!

Trevor Sorbie Styling Curl Creator

Hey Beauties!

I recently went into Boots when they were having a 3 for 2 and usually i would head straight for the makeup but now Bumble and Bumble was in Boots i had a look at the hair products, as i was looking around i came across the Trevor Sorbie Styling Curl Creator previously known as "Curl Constructor" which was in the 3 for 2. I had heard of Trevor Sorbie before and knew of how amazing he was so i had to try out the products and when i first used it i wasn't disappointed.

This Curl Creator is a great product for using before you apply any heat to your hair as it helps to hold the curl and prevent it from dropping and from what i've seen from people asking me is a big problem when doing curls.

When applying this Spray all you need to do is section your hair off as you normally would then spray down the length of the hair and comb through the section to make sure all the hair is equally sprayed and wait for it to dry up before curling, there is no need to use a heat protectant as the Curl Creator contains a heat protectant.I would make sure you don't spray too much or spray to much in one part of the hair because using too much it becomes a bit sticky which isn't good Usually with me i hate products that smell really strong this doesn't smell of anything bad but it has a really nice soft scent to it so it won't bother you.

If you follow me on Instagram you will have seen me post a picture of a clients hair i did a week ago showing 2 different types of half up, half down hair in which i used this spray so you can see for yourself how nice it makes the hair look. I also used it on a recent shoot with Louise MacPherson when doing a french braid in the models hair just to give it a bit of hold and texture

If you do want your curls to last a while longer you could always try applying some Label M Souffle to the ends of the hair as this would help to create definition in the curls but also add hold

You can get the Trevor Sorbie Styling Curl Creator from Boots or from www.trevorsorbie.com for £5.99 which for such a great product is a bargain

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Launches Sept/Oct '13

Hey Beauties!

Real Techniques are going to be launching what seems to be a fantastic new product, at first it reminded me of a Beauty Blender that everyone goes on about but what's so special about this product is that it has 3 different textured parts for applying your foundation in different ways which kind of interests me It has Rounded sides that blend large areas of the face, a precision tip that covers blemishes and imperfections, and the flat edge aids coverage for the contours around the eyes and nose.

The Miracle Complexion Sponge will be launching in select Boots and Superdrug stores in either September or October of this year and will be around £4.99

What do you think of Real Techniques?

Dr. Jackson's Natural Products 03 Face Oil Review

Hey Beauties!

I was asked by the fantastic people at ManKind to review the Dr. Jackson Nautral Products Face Oil which i think is a pretty good product for men who are conscious about skincare and want to explore more options available for men

The Dr. Jackson's Natural Products 03 Face Oil contains some great ingridents to help the skin:

  • Baobab helps to alleviate dry and damaged skin, improve skin tone and elasticity.
  • Marula Oil for its deep penetrating moisturising properties.
  • Calendula for its anti-inflammatory, soothing and refreshing properties.
  • Arnica for its healing properties and anti-inflammatory effect.

I did find that my skin felt better than before i have quite dry skin which is a horrible thing because its really dry and its dehydrated so keeping on top of it all is quite hard work, I like the Marula Oil and Baobab the most because they do amazing things for the skin and did quite good things for my skin too even after 1 use of the product i could feel my skin was softer and wasnt as dry as before, after a week my skin felt totally different i still got dry patches but i noticed that i got these of it or not as bad as before.

The product comes in a 25ml or 50ml dropper jar and you apply 1 or 2 drops to the skin once in the morning and once at night. massage the oil onto the face before your moisturiser, i was slightly worried it would leave my face looking greesy and shiny but it absorbs in quite well which surprised me. I think this product works best when used in conjunction with your normal skincare, I used the oil, Kheils Ultra Facial Moistruiser and some Illamasqua Hydra Veil for some extra hydration and i found it worked  really well but my problem is keeping it up as i sometimes forget to do it or miss a day out
The oil does have a scent to it and it is quite strong if you are sensitive to smells this maybe isnt the product for you as it does have quite a strong masculine smell to it

Overall i feel like this product did make some difference to my skin so i would recommend you try it but i would try the smaller version first so you know if you like it or not.
You can find out more information on Dr Jackson's Natural Products at www.drjackson.co.uk and you can purchase the Dr. Jackson's Natural Products 03 Face Oil from ManKind in 2 sizes the 25ml is £30 and the full size 50ml is £55 which can be purchased at ManKind.co.uk

Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation Review

Hey Beauties!

I seem to be pretty slow on this front with the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation which is a mouthful to say haha! I really want to wait to use this for a while before i gave a review. I got this at the launch event for the Benefit Stay Flawless Primer so it was awhile ago but i feel like i can make a good review now. I haven't ever been a big fan of Benefit foundation they just haven't been good in my opinion but this one was promising.

Colour and Pigmentation

The Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation comes in 9 different shades starting at Ivory "Believe in me" all the way up to quite a warm deep tone called Nutmeg "Gotta Know Me" there is quite a good mix of warm and cool tones which you dont often see. Hello Flawless has a light to medium coverage which is buildable it contains no oils and is said to be brightening makeup and has a SPF of 25

For Reference this shade is Ivory (Im Pure 4 Sure)

Wear Time

I find the wear on this foundation is alright its nothing bad i got about 4 hours of wear from just using the foundation in 25 degree heat then i used it again on another shoot using the Stay Flawless Primer (Full Review Here) and it lasted so much longer i think the primer combined with the foundation makes it last so much longer i got easily a full days wear out of it

Packaging

I quite like the packaging of this because it's fun and it's cute but its also really functional as the bottle has a pump which we all know is a godsend with foundations because a foundation without a pump is the worst. The lid stays on really well so no accidental spillage in your bag and i like the fact the bottle is clear as well so you can see how much is left before you run out

Price and Where to Buy

You can get the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation from any of the Benefit counters in department stores or online here and it retails at £25.50

The Good and The Bad

The Good?- It really looks natural and pretty on anyone really
The Bad?- I wish it lasted longer on its own without the primer

Have you tried Hello Flawless?
