Givenchy Teint Couture Launching September

Hey Beauties!

Givenchy will be launching a new foundation called Teint Couture in september which will be joining the other foundations in the range. There will 2 types of foundation a liquid and a compact version, the Teint Couture Long-Wearing Fluid Foundation (£32) will have an SPF of 20 and contain a "hydro-magnetic" complex to rebalance and moisturise the skin. This foundation should last up to 15 hours but realistically no one is going to wear their foundation that long but you can expect long wear from it. The second form is the Teint Couture Long-Wearing Compact (£37), which will come with a sponge and 2 powders one a flesh toned colour and a pink shade. The compact contains an SPF of 10 and Vitamin E which is an antioxidant that protects and repairs your skin . The foundation contains an ingredient that anchors the foundation, guaranteeing the long wearing properties.

Have you used Givenchy before?

Cream Eyeshadow Bases from Drugstore to Luxury

Hey Beauties!

I was asked on twitter to more posts to help people find some good products across the range from drugstore to luxury so i thought i would do this post today on Cream Bases/Eyeshadows.
Bases are used to either even out the lids before eyeshadow application, control oil on the lids or to add more colour before applying eyeshadow. Usually i will use a base either nude or coloured just to make sure the eyeshadow sticks better and also to make sure its more true to colour it also helps to make your makeup last long as you are layering products which also help to stop creasing

Top Row- Laura Mercier Eye Canvas, Chanel Illusion D'ombre, Tom Ford Cream Colour for Eyes
Middle Row- New CID Cosmetics i-colour, MAC Paintpot
Bottom Row- Maybelline Colour Tattoo, Me Me Me Dew Pot

Ive picked 12 different bases from a range of different brands some costing as low as £4 to some costing around £25+ each of them i really like and are bases i use in my kit quite a lot, i will break them down below show some swatches so you can see the difference between the brands

From Left to Right
Laura Mercier Eye Canvas in EC2- £22.50 ($26)
Chanel Illusion D'ombre in Fantasme- £24 ($36)
Tom Ford Cream Colour for Eyes in Spice- £28  ($42)
These are all the higher end brand bases that i would use in my kit each of them performing differently. I use the Laura Mercier Eye Canvas for when i need to even out eyelids or i will use it to control oil if someone has oily lids as it contains potato starch. I will use Chanel Illusion D'ombre in Fantasme when i want a little shimmer and sparkle because its such a shimmery colour, Tom Ford Cream Colour for Eye in Spice is used when i want darker eyes more sultry and dramatic because its such a warm colour it gives the eyes a great grungy look if used alone but when used with other eyeshadows it creates a really beautiful smokey eye.
All of the above products set apart from the Illusion D'ombre which seems to set but the glitter doesn't as if you rub your eyes it will move and go everywhere

From Left to Right
New CID Cosmetics i-colour in Cobalt - £14.50 (Est Around $14-18)
New CID Cosmetics i-colour in Crystal Quartz - £14.50 (Est Around $14-18)
MAC Paint pot in Painterly - £14.50 ($18.50)

These products are still really high in quality and tend to last quite long, you will love the New CID Cosmetics i-colour is you want a wash of colour to then apply something over the top as they work together to create some gorgeous textures and colours, the MAC Paint Pot i use is Painterly and is mostly used to even out someones lids or to be used as a base for apply eyeshadow onto so the powder sticks and you can see its full vibrancy
These don't really set as much as others do but applying a powder shadow on top of them you should have a problem

From Left to Right
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Light in Purple -£4.99 ($6.99)
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permanent Taupe £4.99 ($6.99)
Me Me Me Dew Pot in Autumn Smoulder- £7.25 ($11)
When people see drugstore they don't think that they can be good quality but i have found of some great bases from the drugstore that perform just as good as the others. The Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Light in Purple is the perfect sheer base to apply powder eyeshadow onto as it gives a gorgeous sheen to the shadow its really pretty, Permanent Taupe is a good dupe for Illamasqua Cream Pigment Hollow but this colour is a bit darker it's also a great colour for creating a not too deep smokey eye. The last product is the Me Me Me Cosmetics Dew Pot in Autumn Smoulder which is a really deep red/purple which creates some really gorgeous grunge looks but can also create some really soft understated makeup without looking too dark
All of these have really good lasting power the Colour tattoo's set so they won't move at all.

What are your favourite bases?
Do you think it really price matters so long as it works?

When will it end?- BB, CC now get ready for DD Cream!

Hey Beauties!

We all know im a sucker for a good makeup product but when BB creams first came out i thought this is going to be great as i thought the asian market has BB creams which do fab things this was back in 2010 they originally were used to help burns patients after surgery so they had a lot of benefits to everyday wearers but these days i think its gone a bit far with everyone claiming they have BB Creams and CC creams which are "Colour Corrective" but to me as a makeup artist they just seem exactly the same maybe a little thicker with extra ingredients

I thought CC creams were too far but now get ready for DD Creams "Daily Defence Cream" or "Dynamic Do it all Cream" which sounds to me as if its some sort of glorified tinted moisturiser but apparently they will be high in Antioxidants and high in SPF to help the skin. When i first heard the news of DD creams i thought ....what next? FF Cream GG Cream? when will this stop because in my opinion there is no need for it

I really like the Dr Jart BB creams as they seem to actually work but they are a little grey so all in all i think its just best to stick to your tinted moisturiser

What do you think of all BB CC and DD Creams?
Have you found any you like?

Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss in Coral 110

Hey Beauties!
This season is all about really bright colours, Neons to be specific but to translate that into everyday life can be difficult but one way you can carry this off is by wearing bright lipsticks. Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick in Coral 110 is the perfect bright lipstick for this.

Colour and Pigmentation

Lasting Finish Matte 110 is a bright colour with a matte texture when applied, but to me its more of a semi Matte as it doesnt look fully Matte as it does have some shine to it which i actually prefer as i think it applies better. I love the colour its just perfect and on trend for S/S13. Its really pigmented for a drugstore lipstick i think the texture and the pigment are really great as you can see below it is super bright, if you didnt want to wear it so bright you could blot some of the colour out or apply it in a patting motion.

Wear Time

I really like these lipsticks because they last such a long time without the need to reapply, i've used this lipstick on a photoshoot and it lasted the duration of the shoot about 6 hours plus being under the hot studio lights i feel it held up pretty well. I think it lasts so long because it kind of stains the lips when you apply it because its such a bright colour so that could be why it seems to last longer

Packaging

The packaging is nothing special its your average lipstick bullet with the exception of the Kate Moss signature and the Rimmel logo embossed on the top of the lid. The lid holds on well so there is no way it could come off in your bag and ruin things which is always a good thing!

Price and Where to Buy

You can purchase the Rimmel Lasting Finish Matte by Kate Moss from all drugstores such as Boots, Superdrug etc for £5.49

The Good and The Bad

The Good?- It stains your lips so it will last quite a while
The Bad?- It stains you, if you get it on your hands or face it does stain

What do you think of these Lipsticks?
Which one is your favourite?

Babyliss Thermo Ceramic Heated Rollers Review

Hey Beauties,
I'm going to be doing a little something different today, im going to be starting to review more Hair products/appliances as i am actually doing Hair now as well as doing Makeup so i thought there was no better way to start this off than with a review of my favourite heated rollers.

Heated Rollers can give you such an amazing look and can be used in a ton of different ways to get different hairstyles with 1 item! When you are using heated rollers on hair it will hold your style just fine but if you use  set the plastic rollers with a wet set your still will last longer because wet sets always last longer than heated sets, i won't go into the chemistry but you get the idea.

The Babyliss Thermo Ceramic Heated Rollers come with 20 different rollers in 3 different sizes for the different sections of your head, I tend to use big rollers on top and medium on the sides and the small ones in the bottom section/nape.
What i really like about these is they have a material coating quite like velvet? which gives the hair and amazing shine, i also find it useful because you dont burn your fingers like you would with regular heated rollers. In my expeirence these dont take much time to heat up at all depending on the temperature you can change with the dial i would at Max heat it takes about 10 minutes to heat up properly.

Also supplied with the rollers you get 9 "Super Clips" which hold the rollers but you dont get much of them so to make the numbers up you also get metal pins in 3 different sizes which hold the hair in place. If you want to purchase more of the clips you can get them online Here for only 25p a clip

I created these different looks below using the Babyliss Thermo Ceramic Heated Rollers my model had long hair which was a dream to work with but her hair was quite fine but she had a lot of it, I had to start by prepping the hair with some Mousse by Label M by running it through damp hair and blow drying to get some volume into the hair then i apply some Curl Spray and Protein by Label M. Put the rollers in and let them set until they were totally cool which is really important or your curl won't hold.
When taking the rollers out make sure you twist to create a curl instead of just pulling them out, shake your hair out to separate the curls and take a natural bristle brush through your hair this will further separate the curls and to finish tip your head forward and apply some Label M Souffle to the ends of the curls by scrunching and releasing and repeating this is a great way to get volume in your curls and to finish spray with hairspray scrunch and you're done.

I really love these rollers because they dont give the hair tangles and they create this gorgeous shine and not to mention they are really affordable.
You can purchase the Babyliss Thermo Ceramic Heated Rollers for £29.99 from Boots or online at boots.com I got mine from Sallys with my pro discount but even if i didnt get them at sallys £29.99 is a great price as some are a lot more expensive but not as good

Do you use Heated Rollers?
What looks do you like doing best?

Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer Review

Hey Beauties!!
I was invited to the Launch of the new Benefit Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer which sounded awesome and it was so much fun, we got to learn about the product and were given one of them to take away to try.

About the product

The Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer is something new to Benefit as its able to hold makeup on for a long time! They already had Porefessional which does everything but prolong the wear of makeup so to combat this they decided to create Stay Flawless which has some awesome properties, if you apply it to the skin but dont rub it in just apply foundation on top it unlocks "the makeup magnet" in which it grabs the products and makes them last longer, I also find it works really well at giving a smooth flawless base it also felt like i was using less product than i had been before

Wear Time

There is no doubt about it that this primer will make your foundation lasts ages! i absolutely love it! I know some primers make the promise of keeping foundation on for ridiculous amounts of time but i think that this primer actually does what it says. I was on a photoshoot the other day and  i used this primer along with the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation and i honestly did not have to touch up the makeup during the shoot as it stayed in place and it looks just as good at the end as it did when i first applied

How to Apply

Apply the Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer after moisturising, apply in a circular motion this will unlock the "makeup magnet" in the product which helps the foundation stick to the skin better.
Watch the tutorial below on how to apply this product by Benefit's Head Makeup Artist, Lisa

Packaging

I think we all have to say that its nothing new packaging wise, i do like how it is contained in a stick but to me it looks a lot like something you would find in Topshop just because of the polka dots and the black parts to it but other than that the packaging is perfectly functional and i can't find fault with it

Price and Where to buy

Stay Flawless 15 Hour Primer will be available for purchase on the 29th of June when it launches and will cost £24.50 You can purchase online or from any Benefit counter

The Good and The Bad

The Good?- It actually does what it says it will do it will keep your makeup on
The Bad?- For me personally i wish it would come in more forms than just stick

Are you excited for this launch?
Will you be getting the Stay Flawless Primer?

Benefit Cosmetics Stay Flawless Launch Event

Hey Beauties!

I had the pleasure of being invited to the Benefit "Stay Flawless" Launch last night which was so much fun like all the Benefit events are.
We all came to Hemma in Edinburgh where the event was held, it was such a pretty place it was really modern and open and just really nice!

We got to try the new Stay Flawless Primer which can you believe has over 15 hours staying power! now thats a long time! I will be doing a full review of the primer in a different post sometime this week so keep an eye out for that.
After being told about the history of Benefit and how everything came to be Lisa, Benefit's Head Makeup and Trend Artist (and Brow Expert) told us about how Benefit had 5 products in the top 5 in the UK which to me is really impressive she went on to talk about Porefessional the UK's Number 1 best selling primer it does everything you could ever want but prolong the wear of your foundation, so thats where the idea of "Stay Flawless" came from.
I have something really special for all of my fabulous readers! an exclusive video that i took of Lisa showing us all how to apply this primer to get the best results!

After the makeup demo there was a little quiz where we could win products i won a few things, Iona from http://ionablogs.blogspot.co.uk/ did as well then we had a few things to eat, as you know im not very adventurous with food Iona ate the fish...stuff and i just ate chips haha

More photos from the Launch can be found
HERE

At the end of the night we were all colour matched and given the Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation, the new Stay Flawless Primer and a foundation brush! I also won 2 things which was fab!

What do you think of this new primer?
Will you be getting it?
