Best of Beauty 2013

Hey Beauties!
I cannot believe its been nearly a year since i posted my favourites for 2012! It seems like 2013 has just flew by and its over already which to be is insane because i feels like just yesterday i posted about 2012.

I have had quite a lot of favourites this year i can never really narrow down what have been my favourites but i do have a selection here. My favourite base this year has really been a surprise to me and its the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow, now if you have been a long time reader of my blog you will know i hated Benefit foundations before the launch of Hello Flawless. For primers i love the Daniel Sandler Retexturising Primer and literally no primer comes anywhere close to this just because of the results its gives it holds your makeup on for ages, it has SPF and it smooths everything out so it shrinks pores fine lines are smoothed out but best of all it can be used everywhere! Eyes, Lips, Face etc but the one thing it doesnt do is hydrate thats where Illamasqua Hydra Veil comes in this is an amazing product as it hydrates the skin so well it has the weirdest texture though, it feels like Jelly! and on my dry skin Hydra Veil is the best thing ever! This year i have been crazy for eye bases and anything to do with the eyes so i have chosen a few of my favourites, Chanel Illusion D'ombre, OCC Cream Colour Concentrate and sometimes i like to use Illamasqua Gleam in Aurora on the eyes because it gives such a gorgeous sheen. For cheeks we have the gorgeous Chanel Cream Blushes! i couldnt pick one so i just picked in general these have the best texture and amazing wear time and finally for brows i picked the Maybelline Brow Studio Eyebrow Mascara simply because it works for me and it lasts you can check out my full review of it here. I do have one favourite for eyeliner this year and it has been one of the best on the market in my eyes and its the Illamasqua Gel Eyeliner which is the blackest black eyeliner ive ever used it applies so smoothly and lasts for a very long time so you can see why i love it so much!

I wanted to give a special shout out to my favourite eyeshadow palette off the year which is the Daniel Sandler Scandal at Midnight Palette its this gorgeous neutral palette but can be used to create really dramatic night makeups

As you can see this palette is so versatile i think this is my favourite palette ever! The black is truest black it doesn't fade or go grey, the Brown tone is really quite taupe like depending on how much you blend it looks awesome in the brows and the White is just so pretty the perfect highlight.

I also have a hair products favourites as because of beauty blogging ive been getting more into hair as well so i thought id show you what i used the most this year

These 6 products are the products i always tend to use be it a combination of them or just one or two of them.
Earlier this year Oribe was kind enough to send me some of their product line to try and since then ive never looked back yes this range might be insanely expensive but i feel like i need them in  my life! The Dry Texturising Spray has to be my favorite styling product its great for long hair but i found out its really amazing for short hair as well i often use this to texturise my hair and give it bulk usually its used with my OSIS Mess Up Matt Gum which is my absolutely favorite for a more "floppy quiff" sometimes i swap the Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray for the Label M Resurrection Dust it just depends how i feel but if i want something more structured and hard i will use the Bumble and Bumble Sumotech with the Oribe Hairspray which is a light hold but it does hold hair in place! but if not for the Label M Protein Spray none of that would happen simply because it is literally to put a finer point on it "the dogs bollocks" Ive literally gotten my whole family addicted to using protein spray after washing their hair. All you need to do is spray it into the hair and blow dry it and it will make the overall condition of your hair much better as its bascially hair food. it has a built in heat protectant as well so it literally does everything!

Get the Look: Christmas Party

Merry Christmas Beauties!

So i was looking through my Tumblr and i saw this gorgeous image and thought it was the perfect Christmas look for if youre going out to a party and since Christmas Day is on Wednesday i thought i would do a get the look post sooner.

The products i thought would be great for this look are:

1. Illamasqua Skin Base
2. Daniel Sandler Heavy Cover Concealer
3. Illamasqua Gleam- Aurora
4. Sleek MakeUP Ultra Matte Palette
5. YSL Baby Doll Mascara
6. Illamasqua Brow Cake- Thunder
7. MAC Harmony Blush
8. Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush- Cherub
9. Daniel Sandler Microbubble Lipstick - Micro Red

Start of with Illamasqua Skin Base apply it in small layers dont be tempted to cake it up this look is all about glowy skin, then apply the Daniel Sandler Heavy Cover Concealer where you need it this will make your skin look as fresh as possible as youre not using a heavy foundation. Next we are going to talk about eyes I really love the eyes on this look because they are really simple use the Sleek Ultra Matte Palette firstly apply the white over the entire lids and blend upwards then use the black on the outer portion of the lid and blend upwards into a point and to blend out the harsh black we are going to use the brown tone on top of the black and then bring it under the eyes as well but not to far into the eyes as to close them off. Finish with some YSL Baby Doll Mascara Now move onto the brows using the Illamasqua Brow Cake in thunder to define the brows then move onto the cheeks and first apply the Harmony blush as the contour to define the cheeks then apply the Watercolour Blush in Cherub.
Lastly we have the lips which i love a red lip its just perfect for christmas! i picked Daniel Sandler Microbubble in Micro Red because its such a perfect traditional red, personally i would use a lip brush to apply because it makes for neater more precise lips.

If you have any suggestions on future "Get the Look" posts please leave a comment!

Soap and Glory Fab Pore Review

Hey Beauties!
I was sent the Soap and Glory Fab Pore a while back but only recently for around to using it I love it although it does says on the packaging that its for Oily/Combination skin but since it works to shrink the size of pores, i thought i could use it as well because i have quite enlarged pores and this does a great job of shrinking them.

The Soap and Glory Fab Pore Mask & Peek comes in a little white tub containing 50ml of product. It smells great as well its quite a menthol scent.

Soap and Glory describes this as:

Infused with SUPERFRUIT™ YUZU and Soap & Glory’s super-active secret weapon, PORESHRINK-R™, this deep cleansing facial treatment is a must-have for any girl who wants to see less of her large pores. Use once-a-week for maintenance (unclogging pores, spot prevention, and face detoxing), or twice weekly if you’re battling breakouts. Guaranteed to give exhausted skin its fresh back. Genius in a jar!

What i really like about this Mask/Peel is that it actually works recently ive had quite sensitive skin and this doesn't irritate my skin which to me is amazing! All you need to do is apply it to your skin if you have oily skin concentrate on your T Zone, i tend to just spread it evenly over my face you can leave it on for 5 minutes or 15 minutes.
I always go on at Andy from Pampered Prince how i thought peels would be scary and would hurt but this face mask/peel really doesnt hurt at all its a tingling/cool feeling but not pain even though it does contain beta-hydroxy acid which is a blend of encapsulated salicylic and lactic acids.

You can purchase the Soap and Glory Fab Pore from Boots and Harvey Nichols or online at www.soapandglory.com for £10

I recently heard about these new brushes coming out from Real Techniques in 2014 and i thought i would share them with you.

Eye of Horus Liquid Define Eye Liner Review

Hey Beauties!

I was recently sent this gorgeous eyeliner, i had never heard of this brand before which for me is something new because i like to think i know a lot of brands anyway this eyeliner is really cool because of the pen is really small and fine.

Colour and Pigmentation

The Eye of Horus Liquid Define Eye Liner is basically your normal black eyeliner there is not much i could really say about it other than its really pigmented usually when ive used Pen eyeliners before they havent been that pigmented and tend to drag but this eyeliner goes on really smoothly and pigmented as you only need 1 pass

Wear Time

What i love about this eyeliner is it dries really fast i suppose that could be a good or bad thing depending on how you think, i quite like the fact it dries quickly because you dont get any transfer and if you have oily lids then its a god send! The eyeliner lasts a long time! i had used it lately when i did drag and i was on set filming and i was under the lights and it lasted all day from 10am to about 8pm which is about 11 hours which is really impressive.

Packaging

If you are anything like me and love well thought out packaging you will love this product because it will not dry out ive read quite a few reviews and they all say that the pen itself doesnt dry out and thats to do with the fact it has a spring lid which seals it better than your average lid which i think is an amazing attribute to it and the fact that the tip of the eyeliner is really thin makes for precise lines

Price and Where to Buy?

This product looks really luxurious and i guess it is but it is really affordable at £13 and can bought from Cocktail Cosmetics in the UK.

The Good and The Bad

The Good? - The liner dries really fast
The Bad? - The lid is really hard to get off

What is your favourite eyeliner?

Sleek is set to launch a new palette "Garden of Eden" in February 2014 containing 12 earthy tones like dusky purples, earthy browns and organic greens and with names including Paradise On Earth, Eve’s Kiss and Gates Of Eden.

As you will know Sleek MakeUP palettes are always really pigmented but i do find you get a little fall out from the colours but if you do your eyes before your foundation you shouldnt have any problems. This palette does look like quite a shimmery palette with only one matte colour being the moss green

If you are like me then you will want to get this palette because im one that kind of loves these kinds of colours i think they can look really amazing on the eyes, they can look really dramatic but not to in your face

You will be able to purchase this palette in February 2014 for £7.99 online or from Boots and Superdrug stores

What do you think of this palette?

Get the Look: Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen in Catching Fire

Hey Beauties!

Ive decided to put a little bit order into the posts i put out, Monday's i will be doing product reviews, Wednesday's i will be doing "Get the Look" posts and Friday's i will be doing Upcoming products
Since today is Wednesday i will be showing you how to get this great look from Catching Fire with Jennifer Lawrence as Katness Everdeen

1. Daniel Sandler Invisible Radiance Foundation and Concealer
2. Illamasqua Fatale Eyeshadow Palette
3. Illamasqua Vow Eye Colouring Pencil
4. Eldora Eyelashes D164 or B117
5. YSL Baby Doll Mascara
6. Billon Dollar Brow Powder in Taupe
7. Small Jewels under the Eye
8. Daniel Sandler Watercolour in Blush So Pretty
9. Daniel Sandler Line n Lacquer in Crystal Pink

Start of with applying the base Daniel Sandler Invisible Radiance Foundation and Concealer this base is really light so you will get that really nice glow and the best part it comes with a concealer so you dont have to match anything up. Move on to eyes using the Illamasqua Fatale Palette take the Mystify onto the lids and blend up to the crease and smokey it out in a wing out fashion and then apply a little Ensnare into the inner corners and blend out, Curl your lashes apply Baby Doll Mascara by YSL Choose your lashes either D164 or B117. Once youve applied your lashes then take the Vow Colouring Pencil by Illamasqua and apply it to your water line as this will brighten up your eyes. Next we have to fill in the brows with Billion Dollar Brow Powder in Taupe Jennifers brows arnt really defined here just lightly filled in so take a angled brush and apply the powder in short fine strokes. Finishing off the eyes add the little jewels under the eyes in a short line you will need about 5 or 6 depending on the size. To give the face some more dimension we have to apply Daniel Sandler Watercolour Blush in So Pretty i choose this one because in the photo it doesnt look like shes wearing much and thats why this blush is perfect because it can be used sheer or built up and to finish off we are going to use the Daniel Sandler Line n Lacquer in Crystal Pink just to give the lips some shine.

If you have any suggestions on future "Get the Look" posts please leave a comment!

Benefit Cosmetics Love at First Shine Ultra Plush Lip Gloss Set

Hey Beauties!
If you have seen my post "Benefit Boutique Opening in Glasgow"  you will have seen we were given a few little goodies and i said i would review the Love at First Shine Ultra Plush Lip Gloss Set*  so i was going to do that today. These lipglosses have the best formula ive ever tried they aren't sticky or tacky at all!

Colour and Pigmentation

The first thing you will notice about these lipglosses is how insanely soft these feel on the lips, they almost feel like a gel texture rather than your normal lipgloss which for me is amazing because i absolutely hate the formula of most lipglosses to be honest. The thing about these lipglosses that surprised me was they are actually quite pigmented which to me is a totally win you will all know i don't do subtle. In this set you get 6 of the miniature Plush Lipglosses in the colours A-Lister- a bubble gum pink, Fauxmance- soft berry, Kiss You- purple berry, Poutrageous- bright pink-coral, Lollibop- hot pink and Ice Breaker- Clear

Wear Time

The wear time on these lip glosses arent that amazing you might need to reapply after an hour but i suppose for a lipgloss that isnt that bad. The lipgloss doesn't leave that weird ring around your lips when it wears off which i do think is a great property of these

Packaging

I love the packaging of all of Benefit products they are all so cutely packaged which i think is really important because a product doesnt have to look like Chanel or MAC to be good i like the idea of fun that goes into the packaging. Individually the packaging has the name of the lip gloss on the back of it and it also has a slanted applicator for easy application
Inside the box there is a little tray that contains the lipglosses which is average i guess for these types of sets but i honestly just love how cute it is not to mention the name "Love at First Shine"

I recently used these lipglosses when i was in drag the other day i used the colour "Poutrageous" in the centre of my lips for a little highlight

You can find these lipglosses at any Benefit Counter or online at benefitcosmetics.co.uk. The set itself is £19.50 which is a great deal as the lip glosses themselves are £14.50 each

The Good and The Bad

The Good?- The texture is the best ive ever felt in a lip gloss
The Bad?- I wish they would last a little longer

What do you think of this set?
What is your favourite Benefit product?
