Me Me Me Cosmetics Dew Pot in Autumn Smoulder Review

Hey Beauties!
Sorry i havent posted in a while ive been feeling rather bleh this week but im here today posting about this gorgeous cream product that i absolutely love using during the Autumn/Winter months.

Pigmentation and Colour

The Me Me Me Dew Pot in Autumn Smoulder is a Deep Burgundy/Wine colour which depending on the amount of product you apply is really pigmented it can be used as a base colour for blending colours on top of or can be used as a cream eyeshadow on its own. Autumn Smoulder isnt glittery or shimmery but it isnt matte it has a sort of sheen to it when applied and once it dries its not going anywhere.

Wear Time

This product does last quite a while as it is a cream that dries down when applied on its own i found it gave around 5/6 hours wear which for a product like this from the drugstore is really good although when applied with a powder eyeshadow on top it can last a full day you will have no bother getting about 7/8 hours out of it.

Packaging

There is nothing different or special about the packaging of this product its your average glass jar containing the product i do like that its quite small and light but i have a problem with the well of product if you are using a spatula to get product its no bother but if you are going to be using this for your own use its quite hard to get the product on your finger to apply

Price and Where to Buy

You can purchase the Me Me Me Cosmetics Dew Pot in Autumn Smoulder from Superdrug or online at mememecosmetics.co.uk/dew-pots for £7.25. I do personally think thats a bit much for something containing only 3ml of product whereas the Maybelline colour tattoos cost £4.99 for 4ml of product but as i said the dew posts are a great product

The Good and The Bad

The Good?- I love the colour its perfect for Autumn/Winter
The Bad?- The size of the packaging is a good size but the well is tiny

Hourglass launches Ambient Lighting Powder Palette

Hourglass has launched this great little palette which contains the shades, Dim Light, A neutral peach beige powder that blurs imperfections and highlights a radiant complexion with a balance of warm and cool tones. & Radiant Light, A sun-kissed golden beige powder that enhances the overall complexion with believable, subtle warmth as well as limited edition shade, Incandescent, a pearl powder which is great at highlighting and also contains a small 5ml veil mineral primer.

I really like this palette because it has 3 of the powders in them which would be a great thing for me when working on set and working on clients because its an all in one product rather than 3 separate product. I have tried these in the store and they look great when applied.

You can purchase the Ambient Lighting Powder Palette from Liberty and Space NK nationwide for £56 which to me is a great price as the individual powders are £38 each - http://uk.spacenk.com/ambient-lighting-palette/UK200011478.html

Illamasqua Christmas Collection 2013 "Envy"

"Party Goers; have yourself a selfish little Christmas..."

Illamasqua is launching its Christmas Collection soon called "Envy" the visuals are amazing , i absolutely love the makeup from this collection because its just so new age angel its quite Alexander McQueen its amazing

This collection contain 4 products which to me aren't very christmassy but i understand the inspiration behind the collection.

The Fatale Palette (£34.00)- consists of 4 powder eyeshadows which are all shimmery which is a new thing for Illamasqua. The colours are Bronx a Bronze gold, Ensnare a Sultry Berry Shimmer- this totally reminds me of MAC Cranberry but not as dark, Mystify a Chestnut Brown Shimmer.

Intense Lipgloss in Maiden (£14.50)- which is a super pigmented warm peach lipgloss- the idea behind this colour was not everyone will want to wear a dark lip during the holidays so this warm peach gives you the chance to play up your eyes but not go to dramatic  as this lipgloss is pretty nude

Nail Varnish in Blizzard (£14.50)- which is a gorgeous snowy glitter effect its more of a top coat than an actual nail polish it looks best if you apply it on top of already painted nails

Sculpting Duo (£28.00)- i love the idea of this because it comes with 2 different colours one for contouring (Heliopolis- Soft Brown) and one for highlighting (Lumos- Champagne gold)

The collection is launching on the 5th November and will be available online and in stores

NSPA Men Range Review

Hey Beauties!
Im doing a post today on the Mens range from NSPA which you can find exclusively in Asda. I was sent this range a while back to try and i thought i would tell you all what i thought. NSPA Men would be perfect for those of you who just want to start taking an interest in skincare or even for the girlfriends or boyfriends to buy for their boyfriends haha.

This range is quite extensive for something of a budget range the thing i really love is that the products are numbered so it couldn't anymore simple. This range is also really good because it can be used by all skin types some of you might not like that but for someone who isnt used to skincare thats a great thing!

I was sent 4 products, Active Face Wash, Smoothing Face Scrub, Anti Fatigue Eye Gel, Reviving Moisture Balm.

The Active Face Wash is something i really enjoyed using because it was really simple to use and it smelled great it was non drying like it says on the package. it would be great for someone who just wants to start using skincare for me it was nothing new it was ok but nothing amazing

This is one of the things i really did like from this collection because it was really gentle but exfoliated really well, i have really dry skin so i wanted something that would help to get rid of the dead skin cells. This product can be used so that you can get a closer shave i dont wet shave so i dont know that works out.

The Reviving Moisture Balm is great its the moisturiser i have been using i got these products, its really simple it's nothing special or amazing it does what it says it will do it hydrates the skin and protects against environmental factors. It absorbs into the skin really well and leaves the skin feeling really soft i think when you use all of these steps together you skin does look great even after the first use.

The Anti Fatigue Eye Gel has to be my favourite thing in this range because i had results after the first use i was actually really impressed at its effects this is basically a little roller ball that you roll in circles under your eyes to depuff and revive tired eyes i honestly didnt think it would work but it actually did work and since i have been using it for quite a while now i can notice a difference in my undereye area its less puffy.

The range is available from Asda exclusively and all the products are under £10. The individual prices are Active Face Wash £2.45, Smoothing Face Scrub £2.45, Reviving Moisture Balm SPF 15 £3.45 and Anti-Fatigue Eye Gel £3.45.

What do you think of this range?
Do you or your boyfriend use skincare?

Tom Ford Cream Colour for Eyes in Spice Review

Hey Beauties!

I love these Cream Colour for Eyes by Tom Ford as they come in a variety of different colours and are perfect as bases for your eyeshadows or can be used as an eyeshadow by itself.

Pigmentation and Colour

I specifically love this colour (Spice) because its such a perfect colour for autumn as its a really warm bronzy tone, you can use it in either thinly on the lids as a simple base to hold other shadows to it but it can also be used more thickly as an actual eyeshadow. I love this colour as well because its really pigmented a little goes a long way not to mention the finish of it is gorgeous, its a sheeny-glittery but not chunks of glitter but just little specks of glitter.
I used the Daniel Sandler Scandal at Midnight Palette over the top of the cream to show you how it looks as just a cream and how it looks with a powder on top.

Wear Time

The Cream Colour for Eyes lasts a long time i remember using it on a shoot a while back and it was a full day shoot around 8+ hours and there was no creasing or flaking. There was a little fading but that is to be expected after 8 hours.

Packaging

The packaging is nothing special at all its just a glass jar with a lid containing the product if im honest yes its functional and the product doesn't dry out but i realised the logo on the top isnt embossed like the Chanel Illusion D'ombre the Tom Ford label is actually a sticker just placed on top of the lid which to me seems very cheap especially for a brand like Tom Ford

Price and Where to Buy

You can get the Tom Ford Cream Colour for Eyes in Spice from House of Fraser, Selfridges, Harrods and Harvey Nichols for £28.

I used the Tom Ford Cream Colour for Eyes in Spice on this photoshoot

The Good? and The Bad?

The Good?- The colour lasts a long time and is pigmented
The Bad?- The Packaging is a bit lacking

Have you tried these?
What is your favourite shade?

Airbase Airbrush Training

Hey Beauties!

Recently i had the great opportunity to attend the Airbase Airbrush Training* which was amazing! It was a day long course where you were taught how to use the airbrush and the makeup, how to apply it and how to take care of the airbrush and components.

We started off in the morning by all introducing ourselves and just speaking about the airbrush we got an introduction pack which was this cool little diary type thing with all you need to know about airbrushing and airbase. I thought it was a nice touch because when you leave you might have questions but with the book everything is in there so its just a matter of finding it.

After a short break we went on to actually using the airbrush we first used it on the small patterns in the book to get a feel for it and then moved on to an actual face, Airbrushing isnt as hard as i thought it would be but it was still a bit tricky because it was a new medium of makeup for me the idea with airbrushing is to make the skin look better instead of layering coverage its like instead of trying to use high coverage at once you build your layers as you go to get the most natural look but good coverage

Someone using the airbrush

I really liked using Airbase because it wasnt complicated the little compressor had 1 button on it to press to turn it on then you were ready to go it was a matter of putting making in the gun and just getting to it. The makeup was amazing as well because it gave such a nice finish but gave good coverage as well as being able to cover tattoos it amazed me!

The person i did the airbrush makeup on
At the end we all got this cool little certificate to say that we had all been trained in Airbrush overall i think the experience and training was really informative and laid back it wasnt like a college class the person leading the class respected us all as industry professionals which was nice.

In all the course was only £150 for full training of airbase and you can get it from http://www.airbasemakeup.com/training/training-dates

What do you think about Airbase?
Would you use Airbrushing?

Save or Splurge Eyeliners- NARS and 2True

Hey Beauties!

Since i have been getting a lot of feedback on these types of posts i thought i would do them more often for you. I find 2 great products for this post, the NARS Larger than Life Long Wear Eyeliner in Santa Monica Blvd and the 2True Twist n' Line Eye Definer in Pure White*

The NARS Larger than Life Long Wear Eyeliner in Santa Monica Blvd is your basic white eyeliner but for me the selling point was the fact this eyeliner was long wearing and was smooth when you apply it. I have used it on many clients to brighten up the eyes and found that compared to other eyeliners this does not drag or pull on the waterline so for me that was a big thing also it does last i know a lot of people who have trouble keeping eyeliner on the water line and this one does what it says.

The 2True Twist n' Line Eye Definer in Pure White* was a nice little surprise for me because i hadnt heard of this brand until i saw it in superdrug but had always passed it by. I would have never of thought to try these eyeliners until i was sent a couple to try out which really surprised me as they are great quality eyeliners for the price. Pure White is again your average pigmented white tone, i  find it doesn't have the staying power of the NARS liner but it does last quite a long time which could be due to the water resistant properties and does stay on the water line which for a drugstore eyeliner is something really good

As you can see from the swatch below the colours are almost identical the NARS on the right and the 2True on the left

The NARS Larger than Life Long Wearing Eyeliner costs £19 and the 2True is £1.99 from Superdrug. I would say personally they are both good products as i always say its up to you too choose which one you like the best if you want the NARS buy the NARS but if you like the 2True eyeliner buy that one

NARS or 2True?
What one do you like?

Lime Crime Candy Future Lipstick "Babette" Review

Hey Beauties!

Today i will be reviewing the Lime Crime lipstick "Babette" its a pretty gorgeous colour ive used it on quite a lot of clients and its a really good highlight colour for the middle of the lip as well as a great lip colour for people with pale skin.

Colour and Pigmentation

Babette is a very peachy nude shade its not something that can be used on every skin tone its going look on on people with quite pale skin maybe even medium skin but thats it, i find anything other than that it looks rather weird on the lips because it is a pale tone. As the same with all Lime Crime lipsticks they are really pigmented giving you a solid colour on the lips, its feels really soft and i wouldn't use the term moisturising because it doesn't moisturise but it feels like it.
You will find that it is lighter than the promo image because it looks darker and richer in the promo images which is quite deceptive but its still a great colour

Wear Time

The staying power with Babette is okay, its nothing special you get about 3/4 hours worth of wear before you need to do some touch ups more so if you find yourself eating and drinking but apart from that it is an okay wearing lipstick

Packaging

I think my favourite thing about this lipstick apart from the colour is the packaging its a really unique bullet as it has a holographic unicorn on the tube with the words "Lime Crime" in holographic writing as well, it is quite a girly looking packaging almost verging on childish but i just absolutely love it as it almost has personality where other bullets are just standard black and boring

Price and Where to Buy

You can buy the Lime Crime lipstick in Babette from www.cocktailcosmetics.co.uk they are £11.50 each
If you are not keen on this shade you can get the MAC Lipstick in Myth which is a similar shade

The Good and The Bad?

The Good?- I really like the opacity of the lipstick
The Bad?- The wear time could be better

Vita Liberata pHenomena Tan Review

Hey Beauties!

Todays review is coming from Michelle Martin who i work with, she is the Executive Producer for Bad Pony Media and Braw TV click here to find out more about the work we do.

Vita Liberata is a tanning mousse with a difference. Before you take my word for that I should explain that I am a pale Glaswegian and tanning – even ones for fair skin – hasn’t always worked out so well for me. I was a little scared to try a product that promised a 2-3 week tan. I had visions of being stuck for the better part of the month looking like a patchy Oompa Loompa but the shiny packaging tempted me into giving it a try.

The product promised to be ‘quick drying’ and haven’t we all heard that one before? One thing I’ve always hated about tanning is floating about naked for an hour trying not to touch anything or sit down. So ‘quick drying’ sounded good but I was cynical.

So using the tanning mitt provided, I opened the cap and prepared myself for the messy, fiddly application that was sure to follow...only it didn’t. The mousse went on perfectly even. I was even prepared for the quick run to the bathroom to get the blotches off my hands and anywhere else they weren’t supposed to be but that didn’t happen either. The whole application took around 4 minutes. No mess, no spill and no uneven patches.

So I figured maybe it was telling the truth about being quick drying. After about 5 minutes I decided to test that out and get dressed. No rub off.

My next concern was that I have quite temperamental skin which doesn’t take kindly to some products. In fact, the month previously I had a bad reaction to a brand name sun screen which left me with a breakout for weeks. So I was wary about putting something new on my skin. Thankfully it didn’t break even my skin out.

After sitting a little while, my flatmate asked if I’d tanned and said it was changing colour – which I was slightly alarmed about because of my irrational Oompa Loompa fear. It was a bit darker than when I had last checked but – like most high end tanning products - it evened out just fine the next day once I’d had a shower. So no Oompa Loompa! Yay!

OK, so it had passed the even coverage test, the quick drying test, the no mess test, the sensitive skin test and even the dreaded Oompa Loompa test but I was determined to put it through its paces with this long lasting claim. The instructions tell me 1 application should last at least a week and if I apply it twice in 24 hours it will last as long as 3 weeks. I only used 1 application.

Now, as I walk miles each week in all weather even torrential rain and I work out every day surely there was no way this tan could keep up with that? Well, it did. I even decorated without it sweating off. Any fade was gradual and more importantly ‘even’ but I had one last test for Vita Liberata. After 6 days into the promised 7, could it still pass the Friday night party test? Well, needless to say after copious amounts of alcohol it reached that part in the night were it seems like an awfully good idea to removed bits of clothing when dared to by an attractive woman. But would my 6 day old application of Vita Liberata still pass the strip test at the end of a long Friday night? It certainly did, I even got lots of compliments because it helps to accentuate your abs (but that’s our wee secret).

Thank you to Michelle for this review i had great time reading so i know my readers will too. TheVita Liberata pHenomena Tan can be purchased from Debenhams or online for £37.50
