Laura Mercier Starlet Mosaic Shimmer Bloc

Im in love with this little Shimmer Bloc. Its 4 different colours all extremely shimmery which i love but the thing that impressed me the most was the pigmentation i know that usually baked products arnt that pigmented but this is just wow. These can be used as one and just swirl your brush into it, it will give you a gorgeous Golden Peach Glow but you can also use them individually

Ive used this for a while now maybe a month or 2 for shoots and such and ive found it works really well for the eyes and it really works well for cheeks too if your looking to do a little bit of shimmery highlighting. Usually i will use this on the tops of the cheeks i find the bottom colour works really well its an almost silvery/white colour its perfect in my opinon. For the other colours i would usually use them on eyes because they are so pigmented and lovely the give the eyes this gorgeous gorgeous sheen, what also makes me love this "Bloc" is the fact that it is baked so i can use it wet and then apply to the eyes for a seriously intense colour
as you can see below the colours are really nice and natrual but still quite pigmented and there for people to see

1 is a Shimmery Bronze ((reminds me of Woodwinked from MAC))
2 is a Shimmery Rose Gold
3 is a Shimmery Peachy Gold- ((I would say it was peachy than gold))
4 is a Shimmery White/Silver/Champagne

This is obviously a swatch to show the colours so it will be quite heavy but with a brush these give such an even finish and the texture is to die for

Ive used it one these shoots below:
Model- Megan Cowan

Models- Camille Perrin and Shannen Allison

Model- Lucy Palmer

As you can see they give a great look to the skin which is just wow! You can get these Shimmer Bloc's from Laura Mercier Online in the US and on counter in the UK for £31, They are on sale just now for £27.90 online at House of Fraser

What do you think of these Shimmer Bloc's?

Illamasqua Eurydice Lipstick Review

Eurydice Lipstick from Illamasqua has to be one of the most perfect lip colours I have in my kit! its one of my favourites that i use quite a lot this is my 2nd Eurydice Lipstick just because its an amazing colour.

Eurydice is described as a Bright Fuschia Pink with a Matte finish often i will find that a lot of matte finishes are quite drying and make the lips look uneven and dried out but with Eurydice that isnt the case it goes on soft silky and doesn't dry out the lips. I remember when I first found out about Illamasqua I thought some of the matte shades were quite drying but this was when Illamasqua first started and I think they have changed and improved their formulas.

As with all Illamasqua lipsticks Eurydice is extremely pigmented and long lasting. Bait Medium Pencil is the perfect lip liner for this because it is a hot pink liner which looks amazing when used with Eurydice

Model Nicole Abbott wearing  Eurydice Lipstick

As you can see Eurydice is such a gorgeous pink colour but i do find that if you don't take it off with makeup remover it does stain the lips which is a good thing but also stains your hands so watch out hah

Eurydice is £16 and contains 4g of product, available from Illamasqua either online or in store

What is your Favourite Illamasqua Lipstick?

How to and Review of the ELF Eyebrow Stencils

Hey Beauties!

I thought I would share a product that i have been meaning to share with you guys for ages but I haven't gotten round to it but a tweet from @ELFCosmeticsUK and after talking with them I thought I would blog about the stencils I almost religiously use.

The ELF Cosmetics Eyebrow Stencils come in a little packet which contains 4 different types of stencils for your eyebrows which i think is such a great idea! The best part is they are only £1.50!!! You cant go wrong there.

These stencils as ELF say are to:

"Achieve perfectly shaped brows to accentuate your face. The reusable stencil is easy to use and with 4 stencils: Curved Arch, Soft Arch, Structured Arch and Full Arch to choose from, it makes these brow stencils suitable for all brow shapes. Now your brows can look picture perfect everyday!"

These are a great tool when you want to be able to get your eyebrows looking perfect everytime. I often use these on shoots when the model doesnt have much of her own brows or when im doing a really dramatic and structured look which calls for bold brows!

Read below for my how to on different ways of using these

Everyday Brows:

Line up the stencil with your normal brow and use an angled brush with powder or use a pencil if prefer that and gently stroke/draw in your brows to create the shape you want pull away the stencil then make the adjustments and corrections you want. flip the stencil over and repeat the steps on the other brow

For everyday brows I will use the sleek eyebrow it which comes with your brow powder and your wax but i dont ever use the wax, I prefer to use a clear brow set

Covering your brows and stencilling them on:

What I will do for this type of application is gently press where your eyebrow would be or where you want your new brow to be with a fluffy eyeshadow brush take your product and apply to the stencils as if it were eyeshadow make sure you fill it all in the remove and make corrections and adjustments to the brows then repeat the other side you should clean the stencils before moving on to do the other brow

Coloured Eyebrows:
Take a concealer on a mascara wand through your brows to conceal the colour of your natural brow and then take the stencil place it over your brow and then colour in the brow with a soft fluffy eyeshadow brush and pull of the stencil and repeat you should have coloured brows now

You can get the Brow Stencils from ELF UK by clicking here they are £1.50 or Clicking here to buy them from the ELF US for only $1. Another bonus is that they reuseable as much as you want.

What do you think of Coloured Brows?

Nightwalk AW2012

In my opinion i think Scotland could be great, we have such a diverse fashion and undiscovered talent here which i think needs to be put on the map and thats what Nightwalk strives to do put Scotland on the "Fashion Map" and i can tell you im all for it!

as Nightwalk describes it on their page:

"Nightwalk is an independent fashion show based in Glasgow. We promote and nurture local fashion talent by providing a contemporary platform, giving up & coming designers and models the opportunity to showcase their talents to a wider audience."

The talent from the designers for Nightwalk AW2012 is amazing:

Animinimal will be doing a special interactive entrance at the show. His garment will be worn by models at the entrance who will also be handing out free Animinimal branded goodies and he will also have a series of pictures displayed at the entrance to the show.

Nightwalk will be held on Tue 9 Nov 2012 at 8pm - 11.30pm Tickets are £10 and available from The Arches in Glasgow
This is going to be such a great event! its one of the best things i've heard about in a while actually just because i've always thought of London as major in Fashion but i can see this becoming bigger and bigger every year!

I asked @Anna_NIGHTWALK what it meant to her to be involved with such a great show and this is what she said and I totally agree with her

"Being involved in Nightwalk is like a dream come true for me. I love fashion, and I keep up-to-date with fashion events around the world and the thought of attending one has been something I have longed for. So to be involved in Nightwalk, means a great deal to me and I want to do all I can to give Glasgow the reputation it deserves for the outstanding talent that fills the city to the brim.
I love the ethos of Nightwalk. It isn't an event put in place just for the elite but for everyone. Male, Female, Music Lover, Fashion Lover, people who might not even think they are that into either but want to broaden their mind and see something new. It is a great opportunity for not just the designers but the people who attend, as after all without people coming along to see it we wouldn't have a show.

Move over London, Glasgow is coming to get you...."

L'Oreal Gel Intenza Eyeliner Review

Hey Beauties! <3
I bought this Gel Liner a few weeks ago when I was in Glasgow. If you know me you will know im a massive fan of gel liners i wont do anything without a gel liner, I just feel they are the best type of Eyeliner you can have as you can create defined lines, dramatic cat eyes, perfect flicks, you can smudge them to make them smokey and they set but i find one of the best things is that they can be used on the water line so you have all those uses in that tiny little pot!

The L'oreal Gel Intenza Eyeliner, i feel is one of the better gel eyeliners out there as there are a few which are quite lacking in pigment, i really like this liner because its not exactly super block black its more of a slate colour with....wait for it!....GOLD GLITTER! yes that's right this eyeliner is laced with tiny bits of gold glitter which makes the eyes look brighter are more open in my opinion

It applies really well with an almost golden undertone when you move in the light, your eyes will catch the light and the gold will be more visible. Its a soft gel which goes on really smooth and lasts a really long time I find the only thing that removes it is makeup remover or Estee Lauder's "Take it Away" Makeup Remover

What do you think, I used it on this shoot with model Nicole Abbott

Photography by Nuala Swan

I really like this liner its almost better than the Bobbi Brown Gel Liners because it does make the eyes look brighter which is always a plus!
You can get the L'Oreal Gel Intenza Eyeliner from Superdrug, Boots any drug store that sells L'Oreal. you get 2.8g of product for £8.99

What do you think of Gel Liners?
What do you use most?

"How to"- Correct Undereye Circles

Hey Beauties!
Today i thought I would talk about what I do if someone has dark pigmentation under the eyes.
There are usually 4 products I got to no matter what when dealing with undereye darkness-

  • Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer
  • MAC Studio Finish Skin Corrector
  • Bobbi Brown Peach Corrector
  • Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Concealer

I love these products on the basis that they all work really well and I will use them depending on the person.
When dealing with darkness under the eyes its best to refer back to Colour Theory. Undereye darkness is often blue toned so putting a peach/orange tone under the eyes will cancel out any blue but the idea with correcting is not to try to cover the Blue with Orange as it will give you orange skin the idea is to counteract the colours then conceal on top if need be with a normal concealer

£4.99 from Boots
For someone who needs just a little bit of everyday undereye concealing I will usually use this or the Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer because both have great tones that work well in covering up the darkness under the eyes.
The Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Concealer has great properties which cause the light to bounce away from the eyes bascially defusing the light and hiding the darkness, it works really well once powdered I feel

£10 from Boots
The Soap and Glory Kick Ass Concealer has become one of my most favourite concealers for undereyes as you can see above it has the perfect peachy/skin tone shade which is great for covering darkness without looking cakey which I think is amazing, this has brightening properties so it brighten as it covers.

£18 from Bobbi Brown Cosmetics
I will usually use Peach Corrector if someone has quite dark undereye circles but nothing major. I like this formula because its soft and creamy and blends like a dream when using this i tend to put a layer of this down let it "cook" then put a layer of normal concealer over the top and powder so it looks best and not "orangey"

£14.50 from MAC Cosmetics
For those who have quite bad undereye darkness or those who have really deep skin tones i feel this is perfect for covering anything that is dark on the skin because its the basic opposite of blue. A little goes a long way with this product as you can see it is bright orange so you do have to be careful. When using this i often put a layer of this down blend it out then layer it again and let it "cook" and then apply a layer of normal concealer on top in a patting motion then set with a powder and it doesnt look orange at all

You will be able to see from this image below even thought the model didn't have major darkness i just wanted to try out this new product I got for my kit.

Model- Ashley Brown
Photographer- Tom Farmer
As  you can see above the undereye area doesnt look orange at all it just looks brightened and corrected.

Do you have a problem with undereye darkness?
What do you think of Correcting?

No7 Match Made Foundation Service

Hey Beauties!

I thought id do a post on this awesome new thing that has come from No7 called the Match Made Service which I think for a the general public is an amazing thing

No7 and Lisa Eldridge have spent 3 years doing testing around 2008 different woman across the UK to find out about different skin tones from which they could develop "skin true foundations" from they found that in the UK there are 17 different skin tones that everyone fits into from this they have created this cool little machine which is able to tell you what foundation shade you are in all the foundations in No7

You all know me and how much of a massive geek i am, so when i saw this i geeked out quite a bit what this machine does is takes 27 photos of your skin tone on either side of your jaw bone and chooses the best foundation shade for you then from there you can choose which of the 6 different finishes you like best

I think this is such an amazing idea for the general public because no matter where you are you will get the perfect tone of foundation for yourself instead of being disappointed when you leave it being the wrong shade or it is too light for you etc
I was talking to Lisa Eldridge and she said that this was great for those who need one foundation but for MUA's its not for that because we can just mix a foundation

All you have to do is go to your local No7 Counter and speak to one of the advisors on counter they will give you the Match Made Foundation Service and then you can choose which finish would best suit you and your skin tone.

What do you think of this Beauty first for the UK Beauty Industry
Have you tried No7 before?

Hourglass Cosmetics Illume Cream Blush/Bronzer Review

((People were saying they couldnt see this post so i just reposted it as a new post))

Hey Beauties!
Recently for some reason ive been loving cheek products and I think I might have found one of the best blushes I have ever used. Its from Hourglass and comes in a duo with a bronzer which I haven't really used to be honest

I really like this because for one im easily amused and the packaging is amazing, its like a normal duo which snaps shut with a magnetic closure but it also slides around as its on a rotating hinge which I think is amazing haha ((easily amused as i said))

You can even flip it around so it looks like its closed but the mirror side is facing outward which is great if you want to do your makeup because the mirror is a decent size.
The product its self is quite impressive it has a cream to powder formula but not a drying powder forumla that ive seen with other products, I would say that it sets rather than turns to powder. I feel the colours are really flattering as well because they are soft enough to be subtle but buildable enough to become quite viberant. The Blush is a soft rosy colour which works well on light/medium skin tones for darker skin tones you would need the other colour in this range which is darker. What I think a lot of people will like about this blush bronzer duo is they are paraben free, sulphate free, fragrance free, wax free and oil free, so you dont have to worry what you are putting on your skin.

I used the blush on a photoshoot the other day to see what it would look like and it looks flattering on anyone. I really like how once it touches the skin it becomes matte but not matte that you cant work with it I found it to be really silky and easy to blend and you don't have to worry about it transferring because it lasted a whole shoot under studio lights.

In this duo you get 11g of product which is great because the price for this product is a bit step its on the same level as Tom Ford and other Luxury brands. Its available from SpaceNK for £40, I couldn't find somewhere online but i managed to find this site which stocks it.

What do you think of Hourglass?
What's your opinion on Luxury Brands?

Illamasqua Precision Ink Alchemy Review

Hey Beauties!

So I thought I would review an awesome product today, the Illamasqua Precision Ink in Alchemy which is such an awesome liner.

Alchemy is a pure gold almost liquid liner which dries to a film like texture that wont move or budge. When I first saw this product i was so impressed with it because often when you see "gold" liners they are that tacky yellow colour which is horrible but this gold is a real true pure gold tone which looks almost like molten metal which make me fangirl a little.

The applicator is a stiff tip like any other liner but it does have some give so you get great liners, i wouldn't recommend this for anyone starting out because you do need to have a steady hand but what I tend to do is dip it in the take some of the product off using a brush I feel I get such a better line using it this way.

I have to admit I haven't used this as much as i should have but I feel im going to be using a whole lot more like im going to try and integrate it into looks.

You can get the Precision Ink from any Illamasqua counters or free standing stores as well as online at www.Illamasqua.com You get 1.8ml of product for £17 but since this product is so pigmented you wont need much of it when doing your liner

What do you think of the Precision Ink?
Have you tried any of the other colours?
