Winner of the Konstantine Giveaway

Hey Beauties!
I would just like to say thanks to everyone who entered this giveaway. It was amazing to see what inspired you all about Makeup and Fashion

The winner that myself and Lisa from Konstantine felt had the best answer was LaaLaa Monroe

"The individuality that fashion can bring is the same with make-up. The way you can express, emotions through clothes and make-up is inspiring. You can use material in make-up playing with textures and wear make-up as fashion such as bodypaint. The never-ending possibilities. When I see someone with personal style to me it makes them fashionable. Out of the box thinking is inspiring. It gives me the chance to dare!"

a pair of these awesome shoes in your size will be shipped out to you as soon as possible!

The Body Shop Matte It Primer

Hey Beauties!

I thought I would share with you something that is basically exactly as the MAC Matte Primer and almost £5 cheaper.

The Body Shop Matte it, Face Primer which is a clear gel with a almost silicone texture to it yet somehow feels a little powdery. I feel this product is a great alternative to Matte and its cheaper. Matte is around £11 from The Body Shop Website or from any Store and MAC Matte Primer is £15
I have used Matte for over a year now and i can safely say its one of my most favourite products ever from The Body Shop.

Photoshoot with Ashley Brown (Americas Next Top Model)

Hey Beauties,

I thought I would continue the series of me showing you my work beyond just blogging. The other day I did a shoot with the amazing Ashley Brown, she is an amazing model and just looked flawless in all of the pictures
Model- Ashley Brown
Photographer- Tom Farmer
This shoot was starting with some natural stuff and working out way up to more dramatic makeup.

Basically what i did was used Yves Saint Laurent Touché Ã‰clat Foundation BD50  i just blended that into the skin and when that had sunk in i used Illamasqua Skin Base in 10 mixed with some Light Liquid this just added to the coverage to make the flawless base. I let it "cook" while I did the eyes i used the Naked Palette and the Makeup Academy Heaven and Earth Palette basically just to create a natural light eye and finished it off with some Gel liner by Maybelline and Super Volume Mascara from The Body Shop

For the more dramatic look I used the Naked Palette ((Virgin and Buck)) and used Makeup Academy Shade 20 eyeshadow ((Matte Black)) to create a smoked out eye and the Buck from the Naked palette to blend out the black

For the dramatic red lips I used Feisty Medium Pencil from Illamasqua that was used to outline the lips and to fill them in then Lipstick in Sangers from Illamasqua was applied over the lip!

Remember to watch Ashley on America's Next Top Model starting 1st October on Living TV

How did I get started in Modelling- Cat Rennie

I get asked a lot about how I got into modelling. So I am going to write a little about my own personal experience and any time people ask, I will direct them to this post! :)

I first had a photoshoot around about February/March 2007. I was so excited I couldn’t wait to be in a studio, have my make up and hair done, and start of my modelling portfolio! I was to travel to London and have a little bit of an experience. And what an experience that was! It was horrific!! I was initially told that this photoshoot would be free and that they would send me information on agencies that will take me into consideration and sign me onto their books. This was not the case at all! Yes I had fun in front of the camera, it was when I was getting changed into my regular clothing and getting ready to travel back home (in Scotland!) that the bombshell dropped...If I was to get my images I had to spend money, and it was a lot of money around the £1000 mark! Because I was excited I had just had my first shoot, I was going to get these images I was willing to pay this. I was young and naïve, didn’t know any better. I didn't know of anyone else who had modelled before or have any other information to me at the time that would lead me to believe that this was a scam. It may seem obvious as you are reading this, and I look back and think to myself “what an idiot!”
They had good sales technique, good pitch, and I didn't feel guilty about paying them.

So when I got home, I started sending them off to agencies, setting up modelling profiles online etc etc. I had a few people interested in working with me, which I thought was great, who wouldn’t be excited?! So I had organised my next photoshoot a little while after this scam shoot, it wasn't the greatest. I felt so uncomfortable! But I pursued onwards and upwards!

I got an email from a photographer who said that they can see the potential in me, but the images I was using from The Blue Rooms (The London Scam Shoot) are not the best. He then went into detail as to why. Things like, they aren’t in focus, they haven’t been edited in the slightest, or the ones that they had edited were horribly done. So I organised a shoot with this photographer and the images I got back were much better than the two previous shoots before, I quickly removed the other images and used these new ones.

After lots of set backs, people not showing up, cancellations, being treated horribly I was going to never shoot again after the photoshoot that changed it all. I owe my little modelling life to this guy! Anyone who knows me, followed my modelling will know exactly who I am on about! Dave (Manipula)!! He changed things around for me so much!! It was the best shoot I had ever had (and possibly ever had, due to it's meaning-fullness) as we both just 'clicked'! It felt like we had known each other for ages and we had such good fun and I would like to think the images showed this too! Dave was to move out of the country a month or two later after this shoot, and since he moved to New Zeland we have worked together again when he was back in the UK, and again, the shoot was amazing, but it was more like catching up with a friend.

So....with Dave giving me my confidence as a model, and as a person..I went out and made sure people knew I was there! I had many set backs but I didn’t let this stop me! I got more and more into photoshooting, and even a few catwalks too! I moved away from Arbroath to Edinburgh, where I was doing more and more photoshoots, working with different companies and getting my name out there. I was then signed with an Edinburgh based agency, although this may be debatable as I, and other models never seemed to get any work from them, or ever been able to get in contact with them. I was still able to book my own shoots off my own back, and I was a finalist in Miss Edinburgh 2010!

I then moved from Edinburgh to my current location, near Newcastle. I concentrated more on settling in and getting used to my surroundings, I didn’t do any photsohoots for a while. It was a big move for me and I was totally out of my comfort zone. But I did do a couple of photoshoots, and then I found out I was pregnant!! I took a year out to concentrate on me and my little family and then I decided to get back into it when I was feeling happy and confident about myself again.

I decided to work with someone who I had worked with before, and as I was going to be travelling up to Scotland to visit family, I chose Burfly who I had worked with numerous times and I knew they would help me feel relaxed and comfortable throughout. The images I got back were wonderful and I adored them...with this I was signed by my current agency, Boho Models, who are fantastic and I have received quite a bit of work through them. And the rest, they say is history!

This is just a little outline of my experiences so far, if I was to go into detail about it all, I don't think it would make for very good reading. The things I have learnt are to be totally thick skinned. People will put you down, people will be horrible to you, but you have to pick yourself back up and move onto the next thing. It is such a small little industry and with the wonders of social networking online, it can make things easier to show your work and to network with other like minded people. Always remember, getting and maintaining a good reputation is what you should be aiming for, you can crash and burn and your reputation is crumbled so easily as it is such a tight knit industry, people will and do talk!

So there we go...blog post done!! if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me :) I may of left things out that people would like answered, or may of rambled on a bit that I have confused you all!! :)

Tips and Tricks- Drag 101 with Vivenne Le'Hore

Hey Beauties!

I just did a YouTube Video! where i talk about different things relating to Drag!

  1. Makeup
  • Make sure your face is really moisturised because you will be putting a hell of a lot of Makeup on your face, make sure you get one or have one that keeps your face hydrated through the night or during your party etc.
  • I like to use a foundation like Illamasqua Skin Base this way i can build layers of coverage that I need
  • Covering your brows!, this is important in my opinion you have to do this to pull it off because woman have higher brows and it just looks better, you can use Pritt Stick as its water soluble and a little cooking oil will take it right off or you could use Eyebrow Plastic this sets like a plastic so better for a long time it is harder to get off but amazing i use spirit gum then this on top so it doesn't pull hairs out
  • --REMEMBER YOUR BROWS ARE SISTERS NOT!! TWINS!-- This basically means your brows dont need to be perfect because natural brows arnt the exact same shape nothing is.
  • Concealer is your best friend!
  • Contouring makes or breaks your look ((giving the face shadow and highlight)) Petrilude(Click Here) has awesome videos on Drag
  • Using a darker lipliner than your lip colour and drag it in slightly gives a more dimensional look
  • Use whatever makeup you like or ask someone to do it for you but drag should be about you doing out own makeup like your own journey.

     2. Clothes

  • If you are going to wear tight clothing remember to TUCK your "bits" away you never see a bulgey woman down there hah
  • You need boobs! dont go for the most largest bra you can find cause you want huge boobs! go for a size that compliments your size, use tissue, socks, anything you can think to fill it but dont over do it, try to make it smooth and feel real
  • SHAVE!! .....everywhere that's going to be seen and that's hairy
  • You will need a wig, if your doing it for one night its fine to get one with little less quality but at least make it look good

    3. Shoes

  • Only wear what you feel comfortable in, if you have never worn heels before dont go out in 6 inch heels cause, 6inch heels and drunk=broken ankle  so only wear what you can try walking in them before get used to it before you go out
  • Make sure your shoes match, well "go" with what your wearing

   4. Attitude

You basically need to be as confident as you can be and be able to throw shade at anyone who will try to pull you down but down be cocky or all "im above y'all" Your walk in important too...dont swagger walk like a lady

If you get hit on or someone thinks your a woman, dont be offended! haha. Just means you did an awesome job!!

Most of all....Have FUN!

Remember to Check out Menergy in Glasgow the next night will be in October in the Forbidden Gentlemens Club near St Enoch Centre in Glasgow.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Eyeshadow Review

I am a little late on getting those this, Ive had these a while and i wanted to wait till I had the chance to use them before I would review them. Ive had these since May i think and i have used them a few times on photoshoots as bases quite similar to the Illamasqua Cream Pigments but i feel they are quite different as they set on you put them on the lid.
I had bought the colours:

  • Permanent Taupe
  • Eternal Gold
  • Endless Purple
  • Turquoise Forever
The consistency is that of a Paint Pot but these feel more like a gel liner than a cream, they blend well on the lids as well but you have to work a bit faster than usual because they do set. I often use them as bases for eyeshadows because they are already super pigmented before they are even paired with a powder eyeshadow
I love the Packaging as its like the MAC Paint Pots you can see the colours and the names really well so i think that helps

As you can see i have had them since about May but i havent used much of them because they are so intensely pigmented a little goes a long way and they last a long time, but i have found that if you dont use the right amount they flake so if you layer them that works better let the first layer dry then put another layer on then if you want use a powder eyeshadow to blend everything out

As you can see the colours are awesome! i love permanent taupe because as Jane from British Beauty Blogger said its really hard to find a good nude colour with such great pay off. I do really like the gold as well because its such a intense colour it reminds me of molten gold.

I thought I would do a comparison to show you how similar they looked not in terms of colour but texture and finish, the Illamasqua Cream Pigments are thick and quite like the consistency of a concealer quite like the Color Tattoo's

I think for a drugstore product these are really quite impressed and for £4 for a pot you cant go wrong as MAC Paint Pots are £14.50 and the Illamasqua Cream Pigments are £17. The Color Tattoos are available from Boots, Superdrug and Online

What do you think?
have you tried the Color Tattoo's

Sleek Makeup Pout Paint Review

I have posted about these before you can find the review here  I had bought 3 more of them in what I think might be new colours?

Basically Sleek Pout Paints are a highly pigmented formula which is used for the lips they are quite like the OCC Liptars which are quite hard to get a hold of in the uk, the Sleek Makeup Website describes them as-

"The new ultimate lip pigment that provides a blast of colour in one purse sized tube! The intensely saturated formula provides outstanding colour pay-off in just one tiny speck, and dries to a long lasting satiny finish. With a wide variety of Pout Paints to choose from you can mix up your very own unique shade using a combination of colours, or simply go for one stand out striking pop of colour."

As you can see above i got colours that were warm, A Salmon/peachy colour called Peachy Keen, an Orange colour called Lava, and a deep browny red called Pin up.
I really love the colour Pin up because its such a classic red tone that looks amazing on a lot of people, i recently used it on a photoshoot you can see the image below:

Photographer- Eric Gordon
Model- Shannen Allison

Designer- Psychomoda Ladies Clothing

As you can see it is quite glossy but still a block colour which i really love. There is a skill to using this type of product because if you dont use enough it doesn't look right but if you use to much it slides and moves and doesn't look right. I used a red lip liner to make sure it wouldn't bleed when it was on for a while. I really would suggest using a lip brush because using something this pigmented needs precision you cant just apply it like a gloss because its not

When applied the colours are what you see in the tube they got on really opaque and last for a good while as they do tend to stain the lips.
I dont know why the peachy one is quite water :/ sorry
The Sleek pout paints are a great alternative to lipstick and gloss as this is quite like both products in one not to mention they are really affordable being from Superdrug or Online and only costing £4.99
the product comes with 8ml of product and for the price I think that is such a bargain because if think how pigmented these are and how little you need in the end its totally work it.

Do you think they compare to the OCC Lip Tars?
Have you used these before?

Yves Saint Laurent Pure Chromatics Palette (1) Review

Hey Beauties!
I really love this palette I didnt think i would because I haven't had very good luck with finding super pigmented eyeshadows from Luxury Brands.
I was quite surprised ((....I get surprised a lot as you can tell haha)) how pigmented these actually were. The Pure Chromatics Palette can be used either wet or dry which I thought was a great thing because if you mix it with some Sealing Gel by Illamasqua then you have the perfect shadow to stay on forever!

I recently found out that this Palette was basically the Facebook Palette that YSL had bought out to celebrate its fans on Social Media. The palette is exactly the same as the Facebook Palette without the Logo on the front

As you can see its exactly the same which i thought was awesome because when that gets discontinued you can still get the Palette you like.
Each shadow is quite pigmented by its self in powder form the glitter retains in the shadow quite well which i was pleased with, i found using a cream base helps more to adhere it to the lids

When I said they were pigmented I wasn't kidding, they are quite amazing to work with they have a creamy texture but are powders. What I love is that they blend seamlessly without any effort when blending.
I took a picture with flash as well to show you have reflective these are and in the light how gorgeous they look.

When used with water i wouldnt say there is much of a difference but the glitter is more noticable in the purple shade when wet but there isn't much of a difference as I can see maybe they will end up lasting longer when used wet but i used Illamasqua sealing Gel which will definitely make them last longer

The YSL Pure Chromatics Palette is Avaliable from YSL Counters and Online at : YSLBeauty and contains a net weight of 5g for £39

What do you think of these Palettes?
Have you got the Facebook Palette
