2012's Upcoming Beauty Products

Hey Beauties,
So you have seen my post on Makeup Trends for Spring/Summer 2012. So now I thought I'd do a post on some upcoming products in 2012.

Here we go! :

  • The Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush- which is a Gel type blush that is so soft it feels "bouncy" it has the light coverage of a powder and the blendability of a cream ((big hit for me!)) These are available in the US and i hope to see them in the UK Soon!

Dream Bouncy Blush
  • New Lipstick from Avon which is quoted "The world's first lavish lip colour wrapped in a glistening clear gel" which i think sounds awesome. These Lipsticks apply and intense colour with shine, with a range of 10 your sure to like one. These retail for about £9 and are available on the 12th January 2012

Shine Attract Lipstick
  • Spring/Summer YSL collection features lots of sugary sweet shades for the lips ranging from purples to pinks and reds, with some gorgeous eyeshadows in gorgeous bright colours along with Glosses, Nail Polish and Mascara
  • Chanel's return to its Lady Like roots the spring collection contains, reds, soft pinks, nudes and peaches a step away from the Metallics and Bold Colours of late
  • Refilllable Mascara From Guerlain will be seen this Spring/Summer the product is named "

Guerlain 'Noir G' Mascara" which you will be able to refill the mascara and it comes with its own little mirror for on the move application. The price is a bit steep at £33 for the mascara and then a further £17 if you ever need a refill.

  • Something i am looking forward to is the Katy Perry Meow Perfume, this perfume was inspired by Candyfornia. The fragrence is said to contain notes of tangerine, pear, jasmine and gardenia; the heart are honeysuckle, lily of the valley and orange blossom, while the sweet base features aromas of amber, vanilla, sandalwood and musk
Gorgeous Desgin! <3
  • Anselm Reyle for Dior Eyeshadow Palette which looks gorgeous, it sort of looks like an army palette of eyeshadows containing purples, different shades of gray, black. It pays homage to Christian Dior's love of art.

What do you think of the upcoming products?
What are your favourites?

Great Multipurpose Product- Illamasqua Cream Pigment

Hey Beauties. Thought id tell you about an amazing product, quite unique as well

I am in love with these because they are so multi-use as i will explain below
I own Mould with is a really grape colour which has the consistancy of a concealer. I also have Dab which is  really light Lilac Purple which is Matte as well. What i love about these is there ablitity to Blend, they look and feel like a concealer and blend like one as well which is really interesting to me. Although I do feel there is a down side to these but it isn't that big, these pigments crease so badly if you don't powder and prime your lids because they are so creamy.

-TIP- if you prime your lid let it sit then apply these and powder with an eyeshadow or with a clear powder you should be fine

Mould (TOP) and Dab (BOTTOM)
Cream Pigments can be used in a number of ways:
  • Colour Correctors- you can use Bedaub to correct any redness that you may have in your face as well as the orange colour, Androgen which is a salmon colour would be good for counter acting blues in the face such as dark circles and dark pigmentation such as stubble  (use with a light hand though, dont cake it on)
  • Contour- You could use Rose Taupe or Hollow(Toffee Colour) to contour your skin if you had very light skin or just maybe even normal skin, i have to say i haven't tried contouring with them but i've heard from Illamasqua that it does look good. You could even use Mould to contour if you were doing a more artistic look because that is a Matte Finish and blends amazingly
  • Eye Base- These pigments crease like mad so i would use them as a base then put colour eyeshadow on top of them just to stop it from creasing on the lid, They all look pretty amazing but then again they crease a lot so i tend to stay away from eyes with them
  • Lip Colour- Now this is my Favourite use for the Cream Pigments, when you use them as lip colours you get use pigmentation and staying power on the lips its amazing i have used Mould Pigment on my lips for Grape Purple lips for a while now and i have to admit that is maybe my best colour for wearing(little sophie liner to blend in, mould and some gloss(sometimes just leave it Matte) and I'm set to go)
  • Art- They can also be used to "paint" on the face or to draw designs etc which is amazing.

From Left to Right- Hollow, Rose Taupe, Mould, Emerge, Bedaub, Dab

New Pigments

Depravity

Androgen

Overall i really like these Pigments but at £17.50 each they are quite expensive but i haven't came across anything like this before , they really are quite Unique im planning to get some more.

I really love this image because its so beautiful but then so different as you can see different Pigments were used which is think is really awesome here!

What do you think of these?
Where and how would you use them?

Hey Gorgeous Beauties! <3
How are we all, good christmas? Im just going to link my latest tutorial and list the products i used.

So the products i used where:

      • Kryolan Greasepaints (Supracolour)- Bruise and Burn Colours (Reds, Purples, Black)
      • Grimas Derma-wax (Breaking the nose)
      • Vaseline or Petroleum Jelly
      • Translucent Powder
      • Grimas Film Blood B
      • Cotton
      • Spatula
      • Pointed edge Tweezers
All of the things you need are quite easy to get a hold of, i use either http://www.screenface.co.uk or http://www.dauphines.co.uk/ which stock all of the things you might need and more! The above should be all you need to create the look, it is quite simple but i do have a tip!

~When trying to slice open the wax to create the scar, always powder as if you dont it is still sticky and will come right off the skin~

What do you think of SFX
Will you try this

Great Christmas Gift Idea- Front Cover Airkiss

Hey Beauties! <3
I found something so awesome in boots the other day and i had to have it and share with you guys because i feel it would make a great gift to so many people.

The Front Cover Airkiss- which contains 20 different shades of lipstick, a Nude Lipliner and a Lipbrush all for....£20!! I think this would be a great gift for someone who maybe is starting in makeup, someone who likes lip colours or even if you want to get say a teenager a gift who wants to feel more "adult"
This Palette is available from Boots in the gift section and there is a 3 for 2 offer on so get stuff while you can.

I think this is such a great find, if you are a aspiring Makeup Artist i think this would be great for you. You could melt them down and put them into a palette. I did a tutorial here on how to melt and save space.

These lipsticks are insanely bright and most of them are quite pigmented and bright some are quite sheer which is a good thing because you dont want a bright lip all the time, there are colours ranging from Red to Pink to Orange to Brown and Purple so you really are getting a great selection

If you are worried that maybe this isnt worth your money, its worth a try? if you buy 2 other things from boots that you really want you can get this for free if it is the cheapest so your basically getting it free!
I do have a few favourites from this palette such as:

From Left to Right-

  • Amaranthine
  • Violaceous
  • Firework
  • Santa
  • Roseceaous
  • Arson

There is one thing i don't like about this is the Lipliner, it is far to creamy and just smudges off but apart from that this palette is a great find and im glad i found it.
I would rate this 7/10 because of the liner

On the Note of lipsticks i got a new Charm from Thomas Sabo on Tuesday, What do you think- isnt it cute!

What do you think of this Palette?
What are your good finds this Christmas

Tools of the Trade- Brushes

Hey Beauties <3
I have had people asking me what are the best brushes to use and i use a variety of brushes from different brands.
I feel MAC has great quality brushes because they have the a lot of choice and the brushes are as soft but also dense when need be. I often find having good quality brushes affects the way you do your makeup or how it applies, but good quality doesn't mean expensive just what works for you really:

    • A Foundation Brush- I like the MAC 190(used it but dont have it) and the 187. My favourite right now has to be the Royal Cosmetic Connections Foundation Brush it was like £2 and that's the brush i keep going back to because its stiff but not to floppy it doesn't streak the foundation and it blends amazingly. The MAC 187 is a great brush for stippling on your foundation to give a "airbrushed" look, it is also really good for powders like mineral foundations.

    Royal Cosmetic Connections Foundation Brush
    MAC 190
    MAC 187
The 187 is a duo fibre brush and i did a post on those here if you want to know more

      • Concealer- I dont really use concealer that much but when i do i either use the Body Shop Lip and Concealer Brush, Boots own brand concealer brush or the MAC 231(Small Shader Brush) which can be used for Concealer, Lips, Eyeliner etc
    MAC 231
    Boots Concealer Brush
      • Blush or Contour- I really like using a slanted brush for blush because i feel it gives a better control but its upto yourself because you can use a traditional brush for Blush or a Slanted Blush Brush.  For Contouring i like using the MAC 109 as it is small and round to help get into the hollow's of your cheeks
    Calvin Klein Blush Brush
    MAC 168
    Illamasqua Blush Brush 2
    MAC 109 (Contour)
      • Powder Brush- For Powder i like to use big fluffy brushes but not to fluffy but a little stiff, i also like Kabuki Brushes, which are amazing for buffing foundation/powder into the skin to give a more flawless look. ((wouldnt recommend buffing foundation if you have dry skin))
Royal and Langnickel Essentials Powder Brush
    ELF Kabuki Face Brush
      • Lips-For lips I like to use either a Body Shop lip brush or a no name one because they both are small and able to control the lip colour well. I also find that using pointed brushes for when doing darker colours helps a lot in controlling where the colour is placed

Body Shop Lip and Concealer Brush
    No Name Lip Brush

      • Eye Brushes-
            • Shader Brush- These brushes are used for putting colour onto the lid i tend to use the Illamasqua Eyeshadow Brush or the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Brush. The UD brush is good for defining if you want to do a cut crease this is a great brush, The Illamasqua Brush is great for placing colour and blending out at the same time
    Urban Decay Eyeshadow Brush

Body Shop Eyeshadow Brush- Similar to the MAC 239

    Illamasqua Eyeshadow Brush
            • Blending Brush-  I think everyone should have a blending brush because blending is key to a look unless the look is clean and sharp lines. Blending brushes are good for blending out colours to make them look as they fade out. I like to use the MAC 217 which is good for blending in the crease/socket or the 224 which is good for blending on the brow bone or adding highlight as it is fluffier
    MAC 224  -Tapered Blending

    MAC 217
            • Pencil Brush- I like to use the MAC 219 as its one of the best ive found its stiff and it applies colour amazingly, i use it under my eyes as it is amazing there and can also be used in the crease to add colour or in the outer edges of the eye

    MAC 219

            • Eyeliner Brush- These are good for applying gel liner to the lid near the lashes or to the waterline, i have tried a quite a few liner brushes but i find that the Chanel Pinceau Eyeliner N°13
    Chanel Pinceau Eyeliner N°13

The next few kinds of brushes are optional:
      • Slanted Brush- These can be used for anything, I like using these kinds of brushes for either Liner, Eyebrows or Lips because they have such defined edges makes for creating defined lines.
    Calvin Klein Slanted Eyeliner Brush

    Illamasqua Brow Brush

    Illamasqua Brow Brush

    Royal Brush (actually a paintbrush)

    Royal Brush (actually a paintbrush)

What are your favourite kinds of brushes?
Do good quality brushes make a difference to your application?
